In early 2020, Allie got a second job working as a cashier at Mapco. Little did she know, this gas station was a regular post-work stop for her future husband to be. Nick noticed her right away and quickly began finding more reasons to stop by. One sunny Saturday afternoon he came in on a day off, bought one drink and then nervously asked Allie for a pen before running out of the store. A few minutes later he came back in, handing her a $5 bill saying "sorry I didn't have any paper". Allie unfolded the bill to find a sweet note with his number attached. Soon after, they went on their first date and immediately hit it off. This would become the best $5 Nick ever spent ;)

In August of 2020, Nick packed his life into a Miata and fulfilled his childhood dream of moving to Colorado. In September, Allie hopped on her first solo flight to visit him. She couldn't help but feel called in that direction with him. So in January of 2021, much to the dismay of her parents at the time, she moved.
